EndArtsFest8.5x11_2018See the previous post for details for this Free, All-Day Festival, complete with all-day entertainment stage and Family Fun Zone, put on by the Enderby & District Arts Council and the Enderby & District Community Resource Centre…..don’t miss it, at least 45 vendors have registered with us already! Festival takes place in downtown Enderby, closed streets Cliff Ave and Belvedere St. Family Fun Zone in Belvidere Park by the bridge. Sunday night will be Music by the River at 7pm with Sherman Doucette and Tankful of Blues. At Belvidere Park. Free, donations accepted at intermission. Bring chairs or blanket. Music by the River Co-sponsored by Kal Tire/Tony’s Tire and Fink Machine Inc.

9th Enderby Arts Festival – July 28-29 – mark your calendars!

Once again, the Enderby & District Arts Council presents this popular annual event. More details will be posted later. Come to downtown Enderby on Saturday July 28th, 9 am – 4pm for an all-day, FREE, family-friendly festival, featuring over 40 artisans booths, an all-day entertainment stage, Lions Pancake Breakfast, other food vendors. The Family Fun Zone will have activities for children, shade tents, a mini-goat petting zoo, Val Hilliker, ventriloquist and puppeteer. There will be a Painted Chair auction on the entertainment stage, with Gail Viens as auctioneer. Local citizens and artists have painted chairs, stools, benches, for this fundraiser for arts organizations in Enderby. On Sunday night, July 29, we present Music by the River in Belvidere Park by the bridge (Enderby Drill Hall as a rain venue) 7 pm featuring Sherman Doucette and Tankful of Blues.  This event is also free, with donations accepted at intermission. Music by the River in Mara!

Their music features soulful vocal melodies that are carried along by quiet, spare and edgy instrumentals. With their effervescent synergy, musical interplay, and sense of humour, Ptriodactyl captivates audiences and is not one to miss. Music by the River returns June 17

Music by the River 2018 starts on Sunday, June 17, 7 pm. with “The Keys”, a 5 piece local North Okanagan band. They play every thing from Classic Rock, R&B, Funk, Rock n’ Roll, Motown, Blues, Country Rock, to originals. It’s members have been involved in many bands over the years, playing at intimate venues to large outdoor concerts throughout the Interior of British Columbia. Whether you like to dance, or just sit back and listen, you’ll have a great time with The Keys. Bring a chair or blanket. Free, donations accepted at intermission. “Grab a Seat” Painted Chair Project

The Enderby and District Arts Council and Enderby Artists’ Initiative are launching their Painted Chair Project to help fund arts programs and events in Enderby and District by inviting the community to show off its artistic abilities by painting chairs. The donated chairs will be auctioned during the Enderby Arts Festival July 28. Prior to the Festival, chairs will be displayed around town and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place “People’s Choice “ will be awarded.

Check your basement, garage or attic for an old chair, stool or small bench and get painting!

Simple Rules:

1. Should be structurally sound and light enough for one person to carry

2. Clean with TSP or similar; Remove any loose paint by sanding

3. Paint

4. Seal with clear varnish

5. Sign your name and date on the underside

Drop off at EDAC office, 617 Cliff Ave, Enderby on any of these dates between 10am and 4pm – Wednesday June 20, Saturday June 23, Wednesday June 27

Experience a “kassak” afternoon with David Thiaw

For the first time ever, we are celebrating Black History month by presenting an afternoon with Sengalese drummer David Thiaw on Sunday Feb 25 from 2-4pm at the Enderby Drill Hall.…see poster. The event is called a “Kassak” – a cultural gathering and exchange of folktales, music, rhythm and dance. Bring your own drum if you have one, drums provided for those who do not. Enderby Arts Festival 2018 – mark your calendars!

Bring the whole family to the Enderby Arts Festival on Saturday, July 28th to enjoy this Free, family-friendly event, 9am-4pm, in Downtown Enderby. In addition to 40 vendors, all-day entertainment stage, Lions pancake breakfast, Legion burgers, food court, live auction of artist-painted chairs, benches or stools. The Family Fun Zone returns to Belvidere Park (by the bridge) from 9:30am-3:30pm. There will be face painting, bouncy castle, games, crafts, a roving puppeteer /ventriloquist, clowns and a mini-goat petting zoo. The Enderby & District Community Resource Centre is partnering with the Enderby & District Arts Council to organize and run these activities for children. Info: 838-0577.
